This is a macro shot of a Kodachrome slide taken with my Canon G10. My mom claims this is after her and my dad lived abroad so we are guessing she is about 27. It is obviously winter since Honey has such a thick coat. I love my mom's shoes! Actually, her whole outfit is pretty awesome. We almost have the same haircut, too!!
The dudes of Saint Motel asked me to take some news pictures of them this weekend, and of course, who could say no to these angelic faces??? But don't be fooled, when it comes to the stage, they are nothing shy of bad ass. Check out their tunes and tour dates (include an upcoming SPACELAND residency) here.
I'm up in Plymouth right now cleaning my office and just came across some old modeling photos of my mom back when she was studying to be an actress. I love this shot - an offbeat moment - of her. It's amazing to me how similar some of our features are and how in some photographs they are more apparent than others. This is from 1975. My mom was the same age as I am right now: twenty six. Crazy.
Sorry I have been completely absent the past few weeks. Serb Camp has totally consumed me. I was the creative director this year, in charge of the group photos, documenting the entire week, making the newsletter, conducting surveys, coordinating the talent show, making the block awards and creating and selling the Camp DVD. It was INSANE! I don't think I have ever been so busy in such a short period of time ever in my life.
Serb Camp is something that is very near and dear to my heart. I've been attending it since I was 5, back when it was held at the St. Nick camp grounds in Dunlap and well into the 2000's when it was returned to Jackson, CA. I became a counselor in 2001 and have come back almost every summer. It's tradition. It's something all of us Californian Serbs swear by (next to Fourth of July and Diocesan Days); a right of passage if you will. I am so happy I had the time to attend this year.
Here are some quick highlights from the week. Much more to come in the next week as I prepare all of the pictures for the DVD. Hope everyone is having a great summer!
I am such a sucker for anything flag related, especially when the use of stars and the colors red white and blue are involved. Man did I luck out with this country, or what??? (This post is dedicated to Mark Grossman)
